Three Black and White pics by Norman Schwartz, our latest addition to the show:

When a community of painters and photographers got together to help each other with information about the arts business in Los Angeles, we came up with the idea of putting together an exhibition, and little by little, we all decided to feature the environment as a theme for our efforts.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

ABOUT THE TREE EXHIBITION:

Our new group, created through meetup.com, also decided to pick a non-profit for each exhibition, one that would educate the public about an aspect of environmental preservation.  And so we picked treepeople.org to educate ourselves about tree (and water) preservation.  My picture of the tree above was taken at the Tree People trail in Beverly Hills.  As I walked around the area, looking to find pics that reflected the title of our show, I found a tree that I thought mirrored myself.  I gave female properties to this tree, and it felt to me as if this tree were wearing different dresses from different angles. I'd like to think I found purity in the soul of this tree, and that I aspire to that quality in my life.

As the owner of the gallery, this exhibition provided me with the opportunity to explore the benefits of nature and to try to portray them in pictures.  To me the sheer beauty and calmness that nature brings to us as we walk down the sidewalk is absolutely priceless.

Below is some of my work, expressed through trees.
